Have you wanted to get involved or support Fannin County Family Connection but have no idea where to start? Maybe you can’t swing giving financially but are willing and able to give in other areas. There are plenty of other ways you can support us in our efforts to empower our community. Below are the top 6 things you can do to support us.
- Engage & Share Our Content on Social Media:
Your encouraging comment and your share can help us reach new audiences and grow awareness throughout our community. Don’t underestimate the power of getting the word out to people who may be in need of our services. - Shop with Us in Mind:
Anytime you go to the grocery store, consider purchasing one item that could be used in our Food Pantry. No donation is too small; every contribution truly makes a difference in the lives of the families and clients who visit our pantry. That item could be a toothbrush, a pack of underwear, a can of soup, or something else you know a family could use. - Donate Items from Your Home:
If you’re cleaning out a closet or organizing your home, consider donating gently used clothing and shoes to our Clothing Closet. We also accept unopened hygiene products, such as floss, toothbrushes, toothpaste, mouthwash, menstrual hygiene products, deodorant, dry shampoo, body wash, and more. Our team also puts together baby baskets, so unused baby items can make an especially helpful donation. - Attend Our Events:
We are very active in our community and are always looking for opportunities to bring individuals and families together while raising awareness and funds for the services we provide. You can find our upcoming events listed on our website and social media platforms. Be sure to come, we would love to see you there and have the opportunity to connect with you! - Volunteer:
We are always looking for volunteers in our Resource Center and for the different events we host throughout the year. Volunteers can help in our Food Pantry Monday through Thursday, as well as assist with a variety of other projects and programs. Whether you have a few hours to give or want to get involved on a regular basis, your time can make a meaningful difference. - Be a Family Connection Advocate: If you hear of someone in need, be sure to connect them with us and share information about the services we offer. Sometimes, simply knowing where to turn can make all the difference for a family. We have flyers and information brochures available at our facility and are happy to provide stacks to anyone willing to share them with others. Help us spread the word and make sure our community knows that support is available when they need it.
You don’t have to write a check to make a difference. Sometimes support looks like an hour of your time, a bag of groceries, sharing a Facebook post, introducing us to someone, or simply knowing where to send a family when they need help. We so appreciate the support we get not just financial contributions but physical connections with other people and tangible donations that families can see and recognize as a helping hand.
